Can it companies train freshers without pay?

Hi,

I was selected by an IT company and have been receiving online training materials from the company which ask us to learn them. They are delaying the call letter and are saying that we need to prepare well as they have reduced the training period after joining.

I would like to know if it is legal for them to do? More than 1000 peoples future is hanging in the balance becaue of this!!

No. Lodge a complaint before the Labour Commissioner/Inspector. Provide complete details in writing.

The company's recruitment policy has to be seen for rendering proper opinion.   If the company rules mandates the condition, one has to observe it, in fact you have accepted the offer after agreeing to the conditions, is it?, if so, why do you agitate on this reaction by the company.  Please consult a local lawyer with the full details including the company's terms and conditions in this regard.
