Can i back out from society membership

I bought a villa in jaipur in a society but i got the land jda patta in my name and thus became an independent owner of the land and the villa. Now in order to move with other villa owners became a society member. now if the society imposes anything which is not to my benefit, can i take my member ship away from society thus becoming not liable to follow society instructions.
