Appointment of judge under art. 124 (3) (c)

A person shall not be qualified for appointment as a Judge of the Supreme Court unless he is a citizen of India and is, in the opinion of the President, a distinguished jurist.

My question is whether a man who is not a law graduate but he/she having a great knowledge of law in the opinion president; can he/she is eligible to be appointed as a judge for SC?

Do we have any instances that any Judge has been appointed on the above principle?

Shailendra
