Adv KP Dandapani new advocate general

Senior Kerala High Court advocate K P Dandapani has been appointed as the new advocate general. On Monday Chief minister Oommen Chandy called him and sought permission for appointing him. The CM also informed him on the cabinet's approval of his appointment.

After securing his law degree from the Ernakulam Law College he joined as junior to Advocate Iswara Iyer in 1968. He began independent practice in 1972 and his wife Adv Sumathi Dandapani also joined him. He later acquired proficiency in civil, company, constitution and criminal laws. Though he became a HC judge in 1996, he retired after five months and again continued practice.

In 2006, he bagged the senior advocate post from HC along with his wife. He is also the legal advisor of many central and state government organizations. His son Milu Dandapani is advocate in HC and daughter Mittu Manoj also an advocate. He is the son of late V K Padmanabhan and M K Narayani.
