Avantika Ahuja (Intern)     24 October 2013

3rd National Seminar on Restructuring of Corporate Debts

Introduction:

The growing economy has its own pack of success. However, global and domestic factors resulting in slowdown in the economy severely deteriorate the financial health of borrowers. Rising inflation, continuously tightened monetary policy of rising cost of borrowing, volatility in the exchange rates, squeezed demand trends, critical levels of fiscal deficits, have all contributed to the cash flows of corporates into flasshing red alerts thereby crippling their capacity to repay timely dues.

The CDR mechanism of RBI and restructuring policies of Lenders are a great tool to put these corporates back in business. The need for a concerted efforts of all the stakeholders, policy makers, lenders, borrowers, tax consultants, is indispensible to restore the health of the hit corporates.

In the backdrop of these imperative issues and a need for a quick, viable, aggressive and effective rehabilitation mechanism for speedy recovery of stressed assets, ASSOCHAM is organizing aNational Seminar on "Restructuring of Corporate Debts - Rebooting the Economy" on Saturday, 26th October, 2013 at Chennai. We are pleased to inform that Dr. J. Sadakkadulla, Regional Director, Reserve Bank of India, have confirmed his presence to grace the inaugural session.
