It is violation of contract law. Civil Court has jurisdiction.

Any enrolled Advocate can file suit on vakkalat from you.
First you have to give notice.
Before doing that go through the terms and conditions of the site.
Make a formal request for revival of the account.

Ms. Kiran,

Yours is merely an academic query.

By the way, what benefit exactly do you get by suing Yahoo merely on the plea that it has closed your inactive account?

Also, why do you feel that only a specific category of lawyers can sue Yahoo.com? Even you can sue in person without hiring services of a lawyer.

Submit a formal representation to M/s Yahoo.com and narrate your objections and expectations and demand to reply within say 15 days.

Thereafter proceed thru your counsel (preferably).

Any lawyer can file case against them.
Rajendra K Goyal (Expert) 07 October 2016
Any advocate enrolled with the Bar council can file suit.

If Yahoo has to policy to close the inactive account, no claim likely to succeed.

Agree with experts.

Ms. Kiran,

You are free to sue Yahoo, but you must at first go through the terms & conditions for your free email account, as well as of the flickr, particularly the termination clause in order to check what sort of violation of their conditions you have made.

You may better be aware that a free service provider cannot be compelled to serve you for any other product or service. There is no violation of any contract law in free services.

If yahoo a/c is closed due to any lapse at your end, access to everything attached with it, stops.

Get your yahoo a/c activated by fulfilling the requirements.

Well advised by the expert P.S. Dhingra and Kumar Doab, agree to it.
