Bridegroom refusing to marry, after public engagement.

Hi,
The bridegroom got engaged to the bride on Sunday at a Public ceremony, kept talking sweetly and planning the future with the girl till Tuesday evening. Then on Wednesday, the Bridegroom family starts a tantrum about things which were not right at the Engagement function. Now they say, that they are calling off the marriage as they did not receive proper respect and attention at the engagement ceremony, also citing silly and senseless reasons.
We attempted to sort things out talking to them today (Thursday), however they are taking a smart stand that the Guy is not interested in marrying the girl and is in depression since sunday evening, not even talking to anyone, WHILE the TRUTH is he was a work even on tuesday, while he was still conversing with the girl, then he suddenly stopped answering her calls and messages.
The guys family says, we cant force him to get married and even if we did, it will spoil the girls life too.
We said, if you were so Unhappy about the treatment you received on Sunday at the engagement ceremony, you should have called it off THEN and there itself, instead of going ahead and also finalizing the dates after the ring exchange. Even at that point of time, they did not mention anything about being unhappy with the treatments or preparation.
THEY were CLEARLY told about the financial background and status of the girl and girls family. They did the best in their abilities.
Now, Please advise on what is the recourse we have. They have spoiled the girls life, as the engagement happened in the village and you know how things work in the village.

Please advise.

Rented house

Hi,
I have a query, if a tenant stays in a house, paying rent continuously for 9 years or more, do they have legal claim become the owners of that house ? Please advice. Where can i find more information on this ?
If this is true, how do we avoid getting into such a situation where the tenant makes claim to the property ?

Lost/stolen photocopies of property

Hi,
We have lost photocopies of our Property papers. Just want to know, can it cause any kind of problems, would someone be able to misuse those, as we feel they have been stolen by person we know, however right now we cant prove that to recover it from them. The person got hold of the papers fraudulently, however, they were only photocopies. We still have the originals.
What steps do we take now to avoid any problems in the future, if any ?

If losing photocopies of property is no harm, then we can let it go. Please advise.

Thank you

Fake will/inheritance

Hi. My girlfriends father passed away a couple of months ago. They are two daughters only as the mother had passed away in their early child hood. The relatives of the Girl seem to have made a fake will and are now forcing the girl to either get married to the guy of their choice or distribute the property among the relatives. All this seems to have been done in coercion with the lawyer, cos the lawyer would have known that forcing a person to marry against their consent is illegal and the will would be invalid. This came to light only two days ago.

This may also mean there could be threat to the lives of the two girls from the relatives for the property.

Please advise, as i feel this would also need involvement of police.

Forced marriage/inheritance

If you are reading this query, please refer to my question at the end. A few experts have already cofirmed that this WILL is illegal and invalid.

Hi.. My Girl friend is being bound by a Will which her father left before dying, that she will be entitled to get the property only if she marries the boy that father has mentioned in the will, the girl also has no mother, as her mother passed away when she was a child. The boy has misbehaved with the girl on multiple counts, almost molested her, insisting she marry him, which she has been refusing. The guy had also attempted suicide, insisting that the girl marry him, the girl never reciprocated to his feelings or ever showed any kind of interest in him.He attempted suicide and also had filed legal case against her stating she was responsible for his act of suicide. The girls father was also fed of this guys behaviour and advances. The girl has severe health issue and even during that time the guy misbehaved, however as they are family friends the entire misbehaviour of the guy was hushed up and never discussed outside. The girls father has also agreed to marry the girl to the guy of her choice. However the girls father was seriously ill and this guy has filed a case against his daughter for his suicide, so before the father died he wrote that the girl should marry this guy (which in a way was to put a end to the harassment that guy was causing to the girl) to be entitled to his property, else both she and her sister would have no right to this property. This guy has been their family friend. The girl never showed any kind of interested in this guy. If the girl refuses to marry that guy, the fathers entire property will be distributed to his brothers and sisters.

Can the girl refuse to marry this guy and still get inheritance to the property ?

Can a father force a daughter by putting a condition in his will, to get married to this guy who has harassed and emotionally hurt the girl on multiple counts, has even filed two false cases against her?

The girl is not willing to marry this guy and its causing emotional havoc, as she is binded in this with her sister, cos if she does not marry that guy, her sister will also be thrown out of the house.

Please advise.

Request you to please suggest the next steps to ensure Justice is done to these girls and they dont have to suffer because of this guys attrocious behaviour.

Also if you could, give me some specific informtion on cases or laws, so i can research furter on them online as I am a LAYMAN.. with no knowledge of law. This will help us, when we are dealing with the lawyer. A lawyer had earlier misled us in this case. Now i understand that this will itself is invalid.

Thank You.

Condition on inheritance to property

The father has left a will stating the daughter will get the inheritance to the property only if she marries to the guy the father has named in the will. This guys has misbehaved with this girl multiple times, insisting that she marry him and she is not willing to marry this guy. Just before the father died, this guy had attempted to commit suicide and then filed a FALSE case against the girl stating she was responsible for driving him to commit suicide.

Can the girl refuse to marry this guy and still inherit the property, because according to the will if she does not marry this guy she and her sister will be thrown out of the house and all the property will be distributed among their uncles and aunts, as their mother had also passed away in their early childhood ?

Please advise. Also of where I can find material on supporting the fact that the Girl can REFUSE TO MARRY THIS GUY and Still claim rights to the property.
Both the daughters are now orphaned and if she refuses to marry that guy, they will be on the roads, as the relatives are waiting to snatch away the property.

So please advise a right course of action.
