Trust buinding tenants rights

Dear Friends

We are a team of 25 households who stay in a cessed building(constructed before 1940) it a trust property.

Also since 1978 the owner has stopped taking rent from any of us.

hence does it mean that we are not recognised as legal tenants ?

All the current residents here are living in this building for more that 50 years.

Now since thee is a redevelopment discussions happening around the area do we have any right to get homes in the same property on owner ship basis ?

Also if there is a redevelopment happening what should be the minimum area of a house and what are the other expenses which we can legally demand from the builder ?

thanks
