Co-op Society has gone to the registrar

Querist : Anonymous (Querist) 22 April 2010 This query is : Resolved
Greetings Sir, Due to misappropriation of funds and non submission of accounts the secretary of the society complained to the registrar the registrar has taken over the soceity. Now all the expenses of the society is managed by the administrator for the first few days he came diligently to our society now he has stopped coming as a result of which all our payments like water bill, maintenance etc is pending.

I would like to know how much time does a registrar take to decide the case of a co-op society. We have to repeatedly call them to pay our society expenses, I mean this is not the reason why we complained to the registrar in the first place. Now everyone in the society thinks that the secretary is at fault to go to the registrar.

I want to know will the decision of the Secretary to go to the Registrar affect him adversly

The secretary has done the right job and there is no fault on him.

Now everyone in the society should submit a representation to the registrar about the problem and pray for early disposal of the issue in order to enable the society function again.

But if no reply or step is taken you can file a writ petition before the high court and seek direction to the registrar to dispose of the case within a time frame of 3 months or even within a less time frame and handover the society back to the members.
