change place of birth in passort

hello Sir,

can i change place of birth in passport ?
passport was issued 5 years ago.
bcoz it is different then my actual birth place.actually they mention tahsil rather then village name.and mention wrong spelling of tahsil.
if yes then how can i do that ?
what is the process and documents need to submit.

With birth certificate give an application to the concerned passport office.

was the mistake yours while filling the passport application? Or is it a clerical mistake of the passport office?

anyhow approach the office with the original certificate and passport.

Thanks for reply.
i want to add my husband name in passport and recorrect the place of birth.
so if i apply for fresh passport and fill the correct place of birth with attested copy of birth certificate and marriage certificate, then
will they issue new passport and cancel my current passport ???
is there any problem in this ?
or i have to give application also ??
