Dear Experts,
I have lost my daughter's original birth certificate.I have enough photocopies and also online download of Birth certificate.
But still we need the original back to apply for school admission.
Where should we apply for the extract of birth certificate. My daughter is born in chennai - soorya Hospital vadapalani.I am very confused in where to apply.Is there only a single office for the Municipal office or we need to apply in respective regional offices based on the locality.
Can anyone kindly guide me where to apply.Also now we are permanently relocated to Mumbai. Does it make any issue in applyin for BC?

You can apply for fresh birth certificate online with the corporation of chennai on the following link:-

But some schools do not accept Birth Certificate without the original signatures of the competent authority. In that case, online certificate will not serve the purpose. Please visit the Tashildar Office at Chennai, apprise the facts to the Revenue Inspectors alongwith the photocopies, then on payment of Rs.10/- per certificate, you can get a original Birth Certificate. You need to spend some days at Chennai.

Should I go to directly to the corporation office/thasildar office or to respective corporation ward to get a birth certificate extract?
