Common wall law

Querist : Anonymous (Querist) 20 February 2022 This query is : Resolved
My neighbour left house around 20 years ago and we also left our 4 yrs ago. Till now he has not done anything to his house to demolish it. After repeated attempts by other side neighbour he has partially demolished. Now we want to construct new one on our place, but as his house is of no use still he is not ready to demolish his useless partial construction. We need to construct and want tour common wall.

Get the area measured by municipal / local authorities and proceed.
However, no legal issue is involved in the facts/ query.

Get the measurements of your area and then you construct your house without touching others to avoid legal complications.

Hello,

As per my opinion, you cannot dispute about neighbour's house and his partial construction. You can only complain to the local authority about any illegal construction by him. You can construct a common wall as per the sanction plan and permission. However, I will suggest you amicably settle all the disputes with your neighbour.
