Tech-Savvy Lawyers

(Querist) 14 March 2010 This query is : Resolved
LCI has membership in excess of 58K as on date and from my short experience in this forum (being enrolled only during the Mid Jan 2010), I find there are few experts in the law fraternity who proactively and intellectually participate in all the debates raised in the online forum which is an indication as to the minor percentage of tech-savvy advocates in the country. Please correct me if I am wrong. All of us should fully support the visionary efforts of LCI so that our next generation lawyers are fully geared up to face any professional challenges on the long run. Please join this debate and post suggestions / feedback

Dear Parthasaradhi Loganathan !

I agree with your suggestions !

It is true that all the advoactes are not actively participating in the discussions. We have to understand that most of the Advocates basically not acquinted with Computers and internet facitlities they depend on some Computer operators , in District Head quarters also still most of the midle aged Advocates and Senrior Advocates are not interested to touch the computers / internet as they feel that it is very difficult and what will happen and we are not computer technical persons . But all/ most of the advocates are experts in their respective fields .I hope that all the LCI members will actively particiapate in the discussions . We have to feel that no one is expert or master of a subject , we must go on learning the subject day by day by discussions . our views may be wrong , but we will be knowing where we are wrong.

LCI really a good friend of each and every member of LCI.

I concur with Rao saab's version but this message was directed in the interest of next generation advocates who should never feel that technology is an alien to the profession. We can see even doctors carry laptops to discharge their professional commitments. The expertise gained by our learned brothers should never be confined to physical case files and must be shared in the authorized forum like LCI. This is not impossible.

Almost all the professional fields are committed to computers.Even today all the government deparments are almost computerised. Our message to all members of LCI to actively participates in the group dicussions.Words commonly expressed NOBODY IS EVER BORN WITH WISDOM WE GAIN WITH TIME AND INTEREST TAKEN ON LEARNING ON SUBJECT IN OUR PROFESSIONAL FIELDS..It is now next generation how much you are committed to take interest and share in our e-field . Or messages to our learned let us wake up and be computer-savvy in our profession.

To add to Thadani Sir's opinion, creation of tech-savvy pool of lawyers so as to adapt to the technological developments and translate them to professional expertise is the need of the hour

I fully support the views expressed by all learned experts and add therein that WE Advocates Are Life-Long Students. We learn daily, we face examinations daily, our results are declared daily and even after declaration of our result, we do not throw our read books rather keep them with us for facing next examination and thus our whole life goes on. Why not to learn latest techniques? Why not to adopt new ways? Why not to learn how to finish large work in a smaller period?

All these aspects are interconnected. Let all of us take lawyersclubindia as an opportunity to come more and more near to each other. This was the task of bar Council of India but let we do this through this club.

I invite all of you members to express your views openly in this club on all subjects. Already forum have been given and some more can be added, if suggested.

Dear R K Makkadji

I agree with You on the point of Advocates learnign daily !

It is important that Bar Council should have taken steps for more interaction between the Advocates. Your suggestions are very good.

At first I have to say that bar council never seen working for the benefit and upliftment of lawyers, it seems only to be regulatory body. I agree with all seniors but, How can it possible? I think only 30 percent lawyers may be, who can buy computer or bear network bills. BSNL has provided 20 percent discount for govt employees in broad band. Judges has been provided with two free broad band connection at office and at home. may I know what may be the reason behind it, I think only to lure vote of pubic servants. Question is what our supreme body is doing for us? I think all have well known with the fact that BECHARA lawyer who can't change his faded coat how can think about computer or networking. At least we are great full to those judges who adjourn the date on our personal problem and permit us to enter in court library, otherwise on one complaint of adjournment Bar council debar us from practice. I pray to All members of Bar councils of whole India, Think about their helpless community. Don't take me otherwise. A poor, helpless but wise people never anxious to unreasonable demand.
Parthasarathi Loganathan (Querist) 20 March 2010
This can surely be addressed when group of lawyers engaged actively in the profession approach any nationalized bank and apply for personal loans for purchase of computers.
