Family Courts matters like Divorce etc would be heard at Sub Court-- Poonnamallee.Appear in Person for the Next Hearing and collect the Petitions filed against you .Go thro that and then you could decide how to proceed.Your Advocate or your self also could collect the copies from concerned Court's Section before the hearing also

i had filed for maintaince for my minor kid this feb and got no reply from the opposition. we hv had delayed hearing dates and nobody appears each time. is this for opposition to reply for my maintenance ask?

Your Presence is mandatory and you should attend all the dates of hearing properly irrespective of the appearance of other side which would enable to get the Ex Parte Orders for Maintenance in your favor. Please note appearance of Advocates in absence of Parties will not be entertained in Family Courts

On June 6th 2019 the Bandra Court in Mumbai had even pronounced an Civil Sentence (jail) for an husband who had failed to obey the Court Orders to pay Maintenance and even in Tamilnadu Courts it had happened.

i had initaited settlement talks thro my a common friend and discussion is said to be going on between lawyers. but they are not coming up with any proposal nor replying to maintaince claim. its just getting a date every time and not proceeding towards solution, its 3.5 years now and nothing is productive
