Chandrika Subramaniyan (Querist) 06 April 2019
Thanks. I understand that legal heir certificate is mandatory. My question was whether proof of unmarried status is required in Tamil Nadu to apply for legal heirship. On what basis or documents required to get the unmarried certificate status certificate in Chennai. Thanks.

Why repeated same query time and again?
Vijay Raj Mahajan (Expert) 06 April 2019
There can be proof of marriage by way of marriage certificate but no such unmarried certificate issued by any authority in whole of India.
A person was unmarried and died intestate, a statement on oath in the form of attested sworn in affidavit is good enough proof required for obtaining the heirship certificate
