Querist : Anonymous (Querist) 26 March 2019 This query is : Resolved
My father has 4 properties on His name and died intestate. My mother is alive. My father wrote a will regarding one property to my mother. She want to gift it to me as an elder son. Can it be registered? How much it costs to register?

You can register the gift deed in your name. You have to pay the stamp duty and registration charges as applicable to state. Please contact local advocate and he will do the needful.

Yes. If there is no clause regarding the enjoyment of her property given by your father (some times after her it will be transferred to xxxxx), then she can gift to you. For this you have to pay the stamp duty and registration fees prescribed in your state.
