Credit Card OverDue : Loakadalt Case Filing

Hello All,

I had a SBI credit card and it had a limit of 48000/-.
As I was out of town and had my personal issue and shifted my hometown I couldn't replay bills for almost 10 months and they contacted me to my new mobile number stating you have to repay the amount within 3 days otherwise it would be a lokadalat case...
I tried my level best to pay 20000/- but asked sometime to pay the remaining and bank officials are not agreeing and telling the payment you made would be invalid and it would be handled by lokadalat case...

Can you all experts help me out is there any option to avoid lokadalat and asking bank time to give me some more days to repay the remaining 28000/-..?

Please do sujjest me and help.is highly appreciable ...

Getting Absence in Lok Adalat if you had not attended it earlier will not affect you and the cases would be transferred to normal courts only

Never ever give or issue any PDC post dated cheque which would land you in more trouble like Sec 138 etc which would be a criminal case

Even in Lok Adalat you could plead for extended time for repayment which would be at their discretion.

Making an Appeal in Lok Adalat decisions are very much difficult.

Thanks a lot for N.J.S sir for your detailed reply ...

I haven't pledged any cheque or any kind of documents to them...

They had given me a week time to settle the payment without any interest [ie,48000] that bank offered me and I tried my best to pay 21000/-

Remaining I couldn't and now they're threatening that it would be paid with interest [ie,78000].
And they are not giving me any time and telling it would be a lokadalat case and I know that they haven't filed any case in lokadalat till now...

Anyway is there any way to avoid it and get a time for 20/25 days from bank and repay remaining amount without interest as now I am really in bad personal issues ...
