At the time of marriage (in kanyadan) my father in law gave one cheque to me and one cheque to my wife costing 2lakh each
But after 9month she committed suicide inher parents house, she was there for her higher education. Now they lodge Fir, we r facing trial, what defence should we take

What was the reason for her committing suicide? A person will not be doing it without any reason. If there was reason other than cruelty or domestic violence committed by you on her, or for dowry demand or any reason concerning you but otherwise not relating to you, that can be given as defence by you in the criminal proceedings.

Your description lacks facts to arrive at some conclusive opinion. Better discuss the background of the case, particularly the reason of your wife going to her parents home and the nature of dispute with you, parents or your siblings.
