Raj Kumar Makkad (Expert) 16 February 2010
No. As the words used depct-family settlement means a settlement arrived at between the members of a family.
Devajyoti Barman (Expert) 16 February 2010
There is no impediment in law to make a stranger in the family deed of settlement presuming that person has got some interest in the property in question .
Parveen Kr. Aggarwal (Expert) 17 February 2010
What interest such an "outsider" has in the family settlement? Whether he is getting something or is giving something in such settlement? Why he is being made a party? All these and other factors determine as to whether he can be a party or not.

There seems to be no reason to make a person party to a family settlement if he is neither a family member, nor getting anything nor giving anything in a family settlement.
Kumar Thadhani (Expert) 17 February 2010
How can outsider be a part of family settlement when he does not hold any interest in the property IN NO WAY ?
