Can i enroll as advocate

(Querist) 01 December 2017 This query is : Resolved
Hi Experts,

Kindly reply to my query.

I have done B.Tech + LLB. I couldn't get into law profession after LLB. I joined a US based Software firm and into programming (no way related to legal/finance). My salary is credited to bank account and I pay tax too.
Now, can I enroll as Advocate also? Is that against rules? I am in full-time employee in private company and its not related to Law.

Thanks,
Suresh

Better you could enroll as advocate in BCI and attend the Bar Council Exam. Once you get thro the Exam you could submit a letter to BCI stating that you will not be practicing as advocate since you are employed. So that when ever you are comfortable you could practice..

I doubt you can not get enrollment as Adv.
But you can represent your own case additionally of some family or relative with Power of attorney in court

Discuss and confirm my opinion from concerned Bar Council of your State.

Even after enrollment in BCI presently the Advocates are eligible to practice only after getting thro in Bar Council Exam.

The real fact is that to get settled as Adv you need time this is fact unless some in family relative is there or someone retiring and you are getting their work.

So in that situation you can move slowly then if you get desired success you can change stream and if you focus on client from your other stream it will be great advantage

Simple if you are civil engineer and you catch all friends all builders civil engineer arch and their work you get and you start then it will be better .

It is simple logic I can never get client from my fellow people from my field from them I can learn and get better experience when they are opp to me . But client I will get always from other field and other friend who are not in my field

You can not practice being in employment

You cannot enroll or practice as a lawyer so long as you are employed or actively engaged in another profession.
