hi. one of my friend's engagement was one week before that happens because of his parents but he loves someone else and wants to cancel this roka/engagement..can the girls side can file any case on him if he break off roka..

he is not happy at all because he is already in a relationship from past 8years with his girlfriend and they both want to get married but his family is not ready..they are worried if they broke off engagement then girls side will file some case on them..kindly suggest what to do.

Your query seems to be purely of an academic nature.
However, if there is any truth in your story, how you are concerned with the problem of the girl side and why your friend accepted that roka, when he loves some one else?
If your friend wants to cancel the engagement, why earlier he did not show the courage to decline that engagement and why he felt bound by the commitment of his parents. Now if engaged, he should honour that and forget about his love.

Love and litigation, both cannot go side by side. If his love can file court case on cancellation of roka, what is the guarantee that after marriage she would not file a dv case on getting annoyed on any incident?
Both will have to compromise with their position after engagement of your friend.

he just wanted to know if he broke off roka then will there be any legal issue.and its been just one week atleast he can save his rest life because if he dont do this then he spoil 3 lives

his love is not filing any court case, im asking if the girl who is getting engaged to him she can file any case on him or not and if not then atleast he can take a step to cancel the roka and get married with his girlfriend.

Vague question! How anybody can guess what is in the mind of the girl or her parents?
If he wanted to know "if he broke off roka then will there be any legal issue," he should approach personally to the girl to read her mind, what is the reaction of the girl or in the minds of her parents. Anything can happen after breaking of roka.

How the poor parents of the girl will justify this break up. What will they say to their friends and relatives that why the engagement broken up within a week.
will it not impose a doubt upon the virtues of the girl. And what about her next proposal. It is a easy job?
Certainly the parents of girl and the girl can file a case of cheating against your friend. A case of defamation and compensation also possible. I am not sure if she can file a suit for injunction or not but police is always with her.
