Hi Sir,

I have lost my original sale agreement without paying stamp duty and registration fees.Kindly help me how to pay these fees and how to make the agreement.

From what I gather from your query you were having a n agreement to sale which was signed by both parties but was neither registered nor any stamp duty was paid on it. If such document is lost what is the cause of worry. Get the agreement reduced in writing again on proper stamp papers and get it registered

Hi Sir,

Actually our lawyer had submitted our agreement at Thane registration office in 2008 under "Abhay Yozana scheme" to pay stamp duty fees but we have not paid it yet.

Now few days ago when I went to Thane registration office to pay the stamp duty fees then I found duplicate agreement copy there along with other original papers(Eg.Electricity bills,NOC from society etc).

The registration officer told me that we had submitted the duplicate agreement copy and my lawyer saying that he does not have the original agreement with him and not even at my home.

Please let me know how to pay the stamp duty and registration fees without the original agreement and how to get the original agreement.

Rajeev Sharma has rightly pointed out, what a worry, when no stamp duty was paid earlier. So, prepare a fresh copy of the document and pay adequate stamp duty.
