Ms.Tejaswini,

Falling in Love is not the only criteria to get in to a married life.

Consider the following before getting married:-
1. Both should have attained the age of majority;
2. Should not be in the degree of prohibited relationship;
3. Financial support;
4. Since you both are relatives, convince the elders if not in the degree of prohibited relationship. If you convince the elders, your relatives and elders will support you both life long.

Of Course, I do not have any intention to disappoint you, subject to what is stated above, always you can go for Registered Marriage. But before going for Registered Marriage consider the above.

go under special marriages act as that has no such rigidity like hindu law; see if he was a muslim with hindu prohibited relationship, would yr marrying him can be stopped, obviously not. see if he can tae care of you or you him with yr or his resources then can go ahead.
