What was the status of the land in the hands of previous owner?

You should first understand the meaning of ST and SC land in the hands of the vendor i.e., whether it was a land purchased by the vendor or it was an assigned land , if assigned what was the conditions imposed for selling rights etc.
Show the papers to a local lawyer and get his opinion.
