Process of mediation

(Querist) 21 January 2015 This query is : Resolved
judge has referred money suit filed by me "referred for mediation". Can anyone guide me the process how mediation works? who will appoint mediator? Timeline for mediator to finish the case? If no settlement arrived, what will be next course of action?
Thanks in advance

Here the mediator would try to settle the dispute amicably if both parties so agree.
If settlement does not happen the suit would start once again.

The mediator would try to settle the dispute in acceptable findings to the parties.

If mediation fails, court would decide on merits.

IF PARTIES SETTLE BEFORE MEDIATOR, IT FOLOWS DECREE & ORDER BASED ON CONSENT TERMS, IF NOT, THEN NEGATIVE REPORT LEAD TO LEGAL PROCEEDING AS IT WAS ON MERIT.

Is it mandatory to appear in person for mediation? or lawyer can represent?
V R SHROFF (Expert) 23 January 2015
IN MONEY SUIT ANYONE CAN APPEAR.
USUALLY 15 DAYS TO A MONTH, OR COURT MAY WAIT FOR LOK ADALAT
T. Kalaiselvan, Advocate (Expert) 24 January 2015
It is important that you attend the mediation session so that an amicable settlement may be drawn, if no agreement is arrived, the case may revert to the regular court.
