Appearing for aibe 2015

I have passed my LLB degree examination in April 1984.

I am enrolled with Bar Council of Maharashtra & Goa who have issued an enrolment certificate and an ID card in November, 2014

Am I eligible for appearing in AIBE 2015 examination.

Dear Mr. Anirudh

extract of notification:-

"No advocate enrolled under section 24 of the Advocates Act, 1961 shall be entitled to practice under Chapter IV of the Advocates Act, 1961, unless such advocate successfully passes the All India Bar Examination conducted by the Bar Council of India. It is clarified that the Bar Examination shall be mandatory for all law students graduating from academic year 2009-2010 onwards and enrolled as advocates under Section 24 of the Advocates Act, 1961."

in this case mr.Vaidyanathan have law degree since 1984.

Since you have passed your LLB in 1984 you are not required to take AIBE.

Thanks Shailesh Kr. Shah for your advice. Now that I have enrolled with Bar Council of Mah. & Goa who have issued me an enrollment certificate and an id card, is that conclusive certificate of practice or have I to apply and obtain a separate certificate of practice.

There is no requirement for certificate of practice to you.

However, all the enrolled advocates are required to register with the respective Bar Council in terms of the Certificate of Practice and Renewal Rules 2014.
