Gift deed

(Querist) 29 May 2014 This query is : Resolved
Kindly let me know, in a gift deed what documents may be attached to prove the relationship between the Donor and the Donee?

In our family we need to gift a property and our agent says he needs the passport of the Donor and the Donee.

What should we do if we do not have a passport?

We are attaching the PAN Card & the Birth Certificates where the Donor(Brother) and Donee(Sister) both have father's name in Common in the PAN Card and both Father and Mother's name in the Birth Certificates.

No supporting deed is required to be attached, at least in the state of WB.

Sufficient identity proof are there, why passport is needed, consult a local lawyer and take second opinion if such instructions exist in your state,

What is the address of the Donee and Donor? If it overseas address, Passport copies are required. Otherwise no need.

Yes, as advised by experts verify from a local consultant abut the formalities to be followed/complied in this respect and proceed accordingly.
