1.) check if ICAI/icwai is offering any taxation course with special emphasis on income tax.you can do that
Also,
attend tax seminars of ICAI/ICMA/ICSI.
2.)"sol.du.ac.in/courses/ug/bcomhons.pdf"
is the website of open univ.delhi offering b.com hons ( with I T law and practice ).
this could be as good as IGNOU
3.)joining regular study leaving your c.a practice is not a practical proposition.
As a practicing c.a ,you may find yourself with more exposure to the tax matters than your faculty, as they are teachers and you are practitioner.
an ounce of practice is better than pounds of preaching.
4.)to acquaint yourself better with the basics as well as advanced areas of income tax, remember a tax degree from a college is no better than C.A, in any way.
it is practice which makes one perfect.not galaxy of degrees/specialisations.
5.)dhirubhai ambani from gujarat, if i am right and if i may be excused did not do a degree or diploma in business management. but his excellence in business came from diligent application to practical business and vast exposure to the world of business.
6.i suggest if you start answering queries in your spare time in c.a club india expert forums and lawyers club india expert forums, there will be lot of exposure for you to the subjects of law, tax, finance and commercial areas, as you will be required to refer the latest law and practice on all areas, and you will be forced to acquaint yourself accordingly.
do that if you find a little time.
in the beginning you find it odd and even tough. but as you settle in the line, you will enjoy and also your exposure to above subjects will get you a lot of confidence and makes you more practical.
out of my experience and qualifications only iam saying all this.
7. )if you want better exposure to IT concepts, I.T law and practice without leaving your profession (do not leave your profession), my suggestion is you offer to help and work under /work with a few senior income tax professionals(c.a/non c.a does not matter) with or without fees, in gujarat itself.keep aside false prestige,ego/money considerations etc...to work with and or learn from others, as you are also qualified professional.
this gives better edge than LL.B/C.S.
remember: vidya turanam, na sukham na nidra( quest for learning denies comforts and sleep)
pl. do not mind some of the words ,if they are bitter but true.
