hello,
my father is going to gift half portion of land(registered with his name) to my uncle..

can he do that???
how can we prevent him by doing so???

if father is absolute owner of property he can gift 50%of land to his brother by gift deed

Yes, if the land is bought by him put of hos own earning then he has every right to transfer it to anyone he chooses.

You have mentioned that the property (registered with his name) is in the name of your father, how it was registered in his name.
