I met with an accident in sept,2012 with my car registered under my dad's name,car was insured,person was standing on left hand side of the road (Not on the footpath).I took him to hospital and took care of him all day long.Injured party filed an FIR against me to get payment from insurance company.On my last hearing ,injured party got this case transferred to Nellore,Andra pradesh where he resides and now i am supposed to appear their on 21st jan.
please suggest me as soon as possible what to do now.how much cost is incurred in these type of cases and in how much time does these type of cases gets settled.

Engage a lawyer in Nellore. If the car was insured the payment is to be made by the Insurance Co.

In most of the road accident cases involving pedestrians whatever the reasons be the car driver will not be absolved of the responsibility of the accident. While the insurance company will take care of the compensation to be paid for the other parties,you may be levied penalty for causing the accident.
Tell a local lawyer plead for you telling the circumstances of the happening before court. You may come out clean.
