Case against lawyer

I have hired lawyer in Haryana for Divorce. He did nothing for me. I asked him to return my documents. He refused to give me back.

I have filed complaint against him is State Bar Council but there also nothing is going on. I have appeared four times before the Council and filed written complaint against lawyer. Council asked Lawyer to appear before it but he is lingering on and have not appeared. He has sent his reply in written and also an affidavit but never appeared personally.

Can I file case against lawyer in Consumer Court. Under which Law can I file case against him or I will have to file case against him in the court itself.

Are ur Doc in Original??? then issue Legal notice to return .
If not, hire another adv and carry on Divorce Matter.
Go to Police. Adv have no right to retain Doc against will of client.

If State Bar Council is not initiating any action complain to Bar Council of India Delhi marking copy to state bar council

Consumer complaint against the deficient services of a lawyer is maintainable but I do suggest to complain to Bar Council of his State.
