Name in documents

(Querist) 05 December 2013 This query is : Resolved
My name has been given as "S.SANTOSH @ SRIRAM" in my birth certificate and this name has been carried out in the same way in all my academic documents and certificates.in aadhar enrollment since they told special characters are not allowed, my aadhar card reads as "SANTOSH ALIAS SRIRAM".
Now i am applying for passport.Should i give my name as "SANTOSH ALIAS SRIRAM" and leave aliases column or should i give my first name as SANTOSH and enter the next name in aliases column.
Please clarify.

Aadhar card has got nothing to do with the passport, however if that is considered as document, it may be for proof of residence etc., if you change the name from the one appearing in the birth certificate to that of aadhar card, you may face problems in obtaining , passport, hence it is better to have your name as appearing in the birth certificate for obtaining passport.
