Was the resignation dated 8/8/2013 an e-mail communication? Is there any arbitration clause in your appointment order?

Better to reply the notice mentioning therein the entire circumstances as you have mentioned above and request the withdrawal of the notice failing which to initiate legal action at their own cost and expenses.

The companies hardly makes any move to recover alleged amount for notice period and that too for such paltry amount.

You can either ignore the notice or give reply denying your liability to pay the money.

Reply the notice as advised by the expert raj kumar makkad ji.

dont ask for legal proceedings . for Rs 11,000 it is not in your interest that issue goes to court . just mention that you were forced to resign . that you were willing to work for 7 days but was told to leave the company premises .

If possible reply in 15 days,if not then take your but a reasonable time say a month.

State all circumstances except that you were
asked to serve for 7 days but rather that you were forced to by manager to resign forthwith.

Chances are very very bleak that any suit of realisation would be filed by them
for 11k.

Nowadays, the Corporate Managements include an arbitration clause in the Terms of Appointment. It is the discretion of the Management to appoint the sole Arbitrator and seat of arbitration would be the Headquarters. This places the employees at a disadvantage. Presently, Managements are invoking this clause and the employees have no option but to succumb.

reply within 15 days time . if you are unable to do so seek further extension
