Is Emotional attachment a ground for divorce

Hi All,
I am undergoing a divorce and very recently, my wife's father expired.
And I did not go to the funeral as well.
Question:
1. Since, my wife did not made any attempt of sharing this information with me, is a clear indicator of no emotional bond whatsoever between us.
Will this "lack of emotional bond" be a solid ground for divorce.
2. Are there any citations/cases, which conclude above point.

The "lack of emotional bond" is definately an imp. factor in a divorce case. But the court may not give much significance to the incidence that you mentioned to make out any such solid ground on that sole basis.

as Archana said it is an improtant factor only....legally such is not a ground for Divorce.
however this fact can be important during litigation.

Even during litigation also, this point cannot help you because it can also be interpreted that you treated your wife to such cruelty that she even could not dare to provide you such important information of death of her husband. Otherwise also it is clear that you are searching the grounds of divorce rather you have no ground with you. This sudden occasion is helpful to fulfil your desire to get rid of your wife.

Sentimental grounds are not the grounds for divorce. Specific grounds are there for the divorce.

for the sake of arguments lack of emotional bond can b stressed to prove her case 4 divorce, but no substancial evidence to prove u guilty.it can b supporting evidence to other evidence before court.

Lack of emotion is an important factor but in a divorce case it will not prove to be a good ground.
