Road Blocked

(Querist) 06 October 2009 This query is : Resolved
few local residents of an area have decided that they will not allow any vehicle to pass by the front of their house. Hence they have blocked the road in such a manner that only a man can pass by walking.
Whether any speedy remedy is available under Cr.P.C? Section 144?
Whether any member of general public can take recourse of that provision?(if any)

Even in erecting Barracades/ Road Common up to some level ( 11 Feet Hight ) preventing heavy Vehicles , the authorities - like Police /Traffic Police have to be informed with their consnet it can be erected .

The entire Way/Road can not be blocked allow only foot way only !

It is an offence to block the public road by making such hurdles as you told. Any public man means general person can approach local executive magistrate of the local area with a complaint and it can be eradicated with heavy hands as no one has got legal right under any legal provisions to do so.
