Address proof for passport

I am a student and my residing address is different from my permanent address which was presented on voter ID, i have a gas connection on my mother's name.so can i use that gas connection of my mother as address proof for passport.I also got ration card which lists all my family members.

ration card will help you in your residence proof . in addition letter from society wherein you are staying mentioning that you have been permanently staying in said premises will be helpful

(a) Proof of address (attach one of the following):
Passport office accept following documents as address proof of the applicant.

Applicant’s ration card, certificate from Employer of reputed companies on letter head, water /telephone /electricity bill/statement of running bank account/Income Tax Assessment Order /Election Commission ID card, Gas connection Bill, Spouse’s passport copy, parent’s passport copy in case of minors. (NOTE: If any applicant submits only ration card as proof of address, it should be accompanied by one more proof of address out of the above categories).

Driving licence is also valid residence proof.

Get prepared ration card as earliest as possible and then attach it otherwise there is no other remedy.
