If a Karta of a HUF dies, then what happens to the properties ie. movable and immovable which are in HUF?

Apart from the KARTA, the other members of the HUF are a wife(of Karta), a son and a daughter, all adults. Do all of them have equal rights?

after the death of karta of huf wife of karta gets half share of the property and rest half divides in to children

If HUF is divided only then the shares shall be distributed and all of them shall get equal share means 1/3 share each in the given case.
