It is bizzare,he is asking for compromise, and he also told you that no husband will take back a 498/A wife. Where is the compromise?

go for divorce by mutual consent . in consent terms make provision for maintenance and with drawal of all cases filed by both the parties .

Let your lawyers be involved in the process of your negotiations and the agreed settlement may be duly implemented without any problem if both sides are honest to the mutual agreement.

It is the best thing that go for compromise by settling one time alimony and drop all the cases both from wife side and husband side as both of you can live hapily. File a mutual consent divorce.

The wife should not resort for blackmailing tactics. Most of the wifes are misutilising the provisions of laws for their illegal greedy to extract money from the husbands.
