Registration in bar council

(Querist) 30 October 2012 This query is : Resolved
Dear Sir/Ma'am

Can a person in a government job get registered in Bar council?

Is it necessary to get oneself registered with bar Council before giving the Judicial service exam just after LLB degree?

Detailed-

I am 25 years old. I am in a government job and I am pursuing Law also. Will I be able to get registered in bar council while in a government job? If not, can I apply for Judicial services without being registered in Bar Council?

Thanks in Advance

You cannot practice as an advocate being a govt., employee.

No. A employee cannot register as Advocate.

If u r already Advocate, u can suspend your practice, and remains on list as non practising Advocate, for temporary period of your employment.
Not applicable in ur case.

In addition to above reply, you can apply of judicial services without being registered. But check Conduct and Discipline Rules of your organisation.
