(Querist) 19 June 2012 This query is : Resolved
If a boy working in some organisation has nominated his parents for his P F, GRATUITY ,INSURANCE etc . Is that nominee automatically gets changed after his marriage & his wife becomes automatic nominee?
If so what is the vice versa rules in case of the working girls?
what is the rule of nomination in this case of a boy whose death is abnormal just after marriage?

Adv Archana Deshmukh (Expert) 19 June 2012
The nomination does not change automatically. It has to be changed manually.
Devajyoti Barman (Expert) 19 June 2012
There is no automatic change in the list of nominees.
One need to physically make changes.
Raj Kumar Makkad (Expert) 19 June 2012
Law of succession prevails over the nomination. This is same for the husband and wife both. If during the unmarried time, either of them or both of them had nominated their parents as nominees in their respective organizations but after marriage though automatically nomination shall not change but both of husband and wife shall become legal heir of each other which shall be the sole consideration for the departments etc.

nomination has to be changed after marriage if you so desire .

nominee is only a trustee for legal heirs .
Shashikant V. Patil (Expert) 19 June 2012
The deceased person's marriage proof certificates/documents are required to be produced to the Organisation to effect this change of nomination.

pre-marriage nomination normally gets invalidated even ifnot replaced by fresh

Nomination is created in writing. Nominee is extended legal hand of the legal heirs and is answerable to the legal heirs in the normal course of succession. Unless the original nomination is altered in writing it continues to exist. I fully agree with the views of all the above experts.
