Dear Satyadevi,

GPA can be revoked when its purpose is completed or if the holder of GPA is no more or any specific clause for revocation mentioned in GPA etc.

if it is General Power of Attorney with out any interest created in GPA- it can be revoked - When the principal desires to revok , it can be cancelled by giving Notice to GPA !- no time limit .

Jayashree Hariharan (Expert) 07 July 2009
GPA can be revoked voluntarily or on the death of the principal or the attorney holder. If it is a special power of attorney, then automatically revoked when the work gets over. The revocation should be registered, if the POA is registered.

There is no time limit for revocation.

it can be revoked at any time even prior to the completion of purpose.

I agree with all the learned members. It is better to publish in the news paper to avoid the misuse of GPA.

Yes GPA can be revoked.
G. ARAVINTHAN (Expert) 09 July 2009
Power of Attorney deed can be revocked by executing a revocation deed when the principal feels the agent is indulging activities.

other general terms are death of parties and completed of certain work ( only in case of special power of attorney)
