26th January is a public holiday. If workers can be allowed to work on said national holiday. If it can be done with prior approval of local labour inspectorate? If yes under what rules and rule number? Please prove the text of the rules.

no compromises on mandatory holidays like Independence day, Republic day and Gandhi Jayanthi. These days cannot be compensated with a holiday whether it falls on a working day or a holiday.

No officer of State can permit any institute to take work from employees on republic day. This is State policy announced publically years ago. None can challenge it.
Certain Factory/ industry need staff to work for essential continuous processes ext. Fire & Security remains on job 24/7
Those Staff are allowed to work on these days To my knowledge, they are paid Overtime Wages + with a compensatory paid OFF[ holiday] within a week of such holiday.
