Regarding st category certificate !

My Grandfather and is residing in Chhattisgarh State for the last 75 years.We belong to Scheduled Caste Category, mentioned in the Chhattisgarh State. My mother belong to Scheduled Tribe, listed in the Tribal List of Chhattisgarh. My Question is: 01. Am I eligible to possess Scheduled Tribe Status which my mother belong to?
02. Can I apply to Tribal Department for Scheduled Tribe Certificate?

You can apply. However, the caste certificate will be issued based on guidelines mentioned in the G.O. issued by the State Government concerned.

If your school records exhibt as scheduled caste,and if you want to change it as scheduled tribe now, the authorities are bound to verify the same with the community people before issuing the 'Tribe'certificate.I presume you prefer a change to get placements without much competition.
