Sir i want to know who are the persons suppose to pay income tax.that is whether government or private employees and for what income

All persons (whether in government, private, public limited company, self-employed etc. etc.) who has taxable income, beyond the exempted limit are supposed to pay income tax.

YES,Mr.R.Ramchandran is right.
AND the exempted limit is Rs.1,8000/=so income above this limit is taxable in case of males below 60 years of age.

Please check. In my opinion the exemption limit is 1,60,000 for male below 60 years of age, Rs. 1,90,000 female below 60 years of age, Rs. 2,50,000 person above 60 years but less than 80. Rs. 5,00,000 for persons above 80 years of age.
