query

(Querist) 27 March 2011 This query is : Resolved
i have got two questions..
1) how one can know that a name which he wants to use for registering his NGO/ NPO, is already booked or not?

2)what are the various ways in which a NGO/NPO can raise their funds.. and what are the legal constraints, if any?

thanks and regards

You can approach the Society Registrar for availablity of the name.

Raising funds is not a legal query.

NGO can be in any one of the three forms:
a) A registered co-op society under concerned State Act- name availability to be checked with Society Registrar.
b) Charitable Trust under Indian Trust Act - to be registered with commissioner of charities - name availability to be checked with him.
c) Ltd.Company under Sec.25 of Indian Company Act - Registrar or companies.

Raising funds depends on your capacity. There are many offers in Internet you have bid for the same explaining your strength.
