criminal case query

Good Afternoon Respected Members.

Sir, according to law a person committed a offense or is guilty of an offense ,,, cant file a case for a same offense... For eg: If X had committed a murdered and theft of gold items. And Z had thefted that same golden items....Now can X can file a case against Z for theft of this golden items.
In total if a person is guilty of an offense , can he file a case on another person for the same offense.
I request the learned members to en-light me in this subject.

X can file a criminal, but not a civil, case against Z.

No. He can not. He is not the owner of the article and he has committed an offense.He can not claim as owner.
