No such immunity is granted to the advocates.

Honourable members ! I have heard that while talking with his counsel an accused can not be arrested, whether it is true? Is there any judgment or law.
Gulshan Tanwar (Expert) 30 December 2010
An Advocate cannot be arrested while doing his duty and regarding criminal arrest, a procedure had to be followed by the Prosecuting agency failing which the Agency will recieve the wrath of the Hon'ble Supreme Court and High Courts and there are lots of judgments in this regard.

In Civil case, arrest is the exception and it is only for a maximum period of 30 days and after which the court doesnt have the power to keep him in jail for more than 30 days. That is civil law.

It is a news.

but, long time back, the chennai high court had issued directions to the police, to follow certain procedures in case of any litigations against the advocates. I dont remember the exact case number.

I am also expecting from Mr.Gulsan to give a citation on this.
