sirs,
my wife is going to proceed against me u/s 4 of dowry prohibition act. will she register an fir with a police station or will she go directly to the court? Shall I be arrested immediately? I know there is no provision for bails for contraventions under this act. HOW CAN I PROVE BEFORE THE COURT THAT I DIDNOT DEMAND DOWRY? PLS TELL ME WHAT CAN I DO IN MY DEFENCE??
1.YOU AND YOUR CLOSE FAMILY MEMBERS IMMEDIATELY APPLY FOR ANTICIPATORY BAIL AT DIST AND SESSIONS COURT OR HIGH COURT.AND ALSO PRAY FOR INTERIUM ORDER. 2.YOU AND YOUR CLOSE FAMILY MEMBERS HAVE TO SHIFT FROM YOUR CURRENT RESIDENCE FOR AT LEAST A WEEK OR TWO TILL YOU GET PROTECTION AND INTERIUM ORDER OF ANTICIPATORY BAIL FROM SESSIONS COURT OR HIGH COURT. 3.THERE ARE CHANCES OF ARREST OF YOU AND YOUR FAMILY MEMBERS AS COMPLAINT CAN BE FILED AGAINST ALL UNDER SEC.498A ALSO.PLEASE NOTE. IN CASE YOU NEED ANY URGENT HELP YOU MAY WRITE AND SEND DETAILS OR CALL WILL HELP YOU. GOOD LUCK.

There is no need to fleeing your place of residence or to apply for anticipatory bail rather have patience and bear the things. Dowry Prohibition Act can be effected only against the husband and his parents as held by Hon'ble Apex Court and generally bail to the parents is granted immediately whereas husband can be sent behind bars for a day or two depending upon the seriousness of the allegations.
