first of all i want to know if you want to adopt the child or merely act as a guardian. if that is so,what is the need for the parents to leave the child in your custody. if there is a valid reason ,then i woukd like to know the religion of the child, its parents and of you. because in india different guardianship laws are there for defferent religions. kindly give me the details to guide you further. good luck.

SirIt is merely acting as a guardian and not adoption. Both of us are Jain.Custody shall continue with parents where he resides.
pls advise further.

You cannot act as a guardian for the minor because still parents are alive. For Jains Hindu law is applicable, there is no other law for the jains.

I agree with Mr. Rajivji.

legal guardian for what purpose, you have not mentioned. Merely asking to become legal guardian is not possible when natural guardians are still alive and ready to look after their children.
