Divorce

(Querist) 22 August 2020 This query is : Resolved
My marriage life is not the way it has to be. My husband has kept my son and myself in my parents place and has often abandoned us and stayed in his moms house. I am from a different religion so his family has always ignored me and my son. He doesn't care about my son or me. I am a kindergarten teacher, I don't make much of earning still I am the one to take care of my sons education and expenses. He pays 4000 gives me 4000 as rent. The days I am sick or my son is unwell he happily goes off to his moms house . I have been withstanding for 7 years now. I just want to end this. But I am not financially good enough to have lawyer. Can you please suggest Wat do I do??

There are lawyers who may take case with minimum fees. You can contact District Legal Authority to provide you free legal aid.
Try to go for mutual consent divorce, it would be cheaper and faster.
If not possible, file case of divorce and maintenance for you and your son.
If there was any torture, domestic violence, taunts, may file case of domestic violence.

Yes, the allegations against the husband are too amorphous. Moreover, what matters whether you have decided to seek divorce.

If so, you need to engage an advocate. Yes, you can seek free legal assistance through the District Legal Authority. However, please note that there could be much slip between the cup and the lip.

While it may not be difficult for you to get a lawyer, I suggest that before moving for divorce proceedings, it would be prudent for you to explore all other alternatives to save your married life please. Divorce be thought of only as a last resort if all your efforts to smoothen the family life fail. Think with a cool mind frame and take help of some mutually acceptable elders, if such sources are available.
